This is a new advance in Visitor Screening at Guard Gates. Instead of scanning the drivers license, the system automatically scans the license plate of the vehicle. If this vehicle has visited the complex before (which happens as much as 70% of the time), the system will bring up all the data from the last visit. In that case, the guard simply confirms the fact that this is a repeat visit and issues a gate pass. If this is the first time the vehicle is entering the community, then the visitor is processed with the full scan of his drivers’ license and other checks. The addition of the automated license plate recognition system can reduce the average processing time for the visitor by up to 50%, essentially doubling the capacity in the visitor lane by 100% and reducing lines and complaints from the visitors and their corresponding hosts.
